I have to admit. Today has been the best Monday in a long time. I made crepes for breakfast, and Rio got crock pot sweet potatoes and pork from last night. I think I can still hear her licking her lips in the kitchen. It is an awesome recipe so if you want it ask, I guarantee your dog will love some too! It is officially Christmas break, which means no school and no work until noon! This also means that I have time to cook really awesome food and Rio gets to go on super long walks everyday. Yesterday we went to a nature preserve and trudged through snow for an hour. When we got home I made french onion soup and Zach, Rio , and I all gathered around the television to watch the Tale of Despereaux; ironically, the movie has a lot to do with soup:)
But alas it is still a Monday, and so I will keep in tune with last Monday’s post and provide for you a cute picture and an uplifting quote.
“No matter how close we are to another person, few human relationships are as free from strife, disagreement, and frustration as is the relationship you have with a good dog. Few human beings give of themselves to another as a dog gives of itself. I also suspect that we cherish dogs because their unblemished souls make us wish – consciously or unconsciously – that we were as innocent as they are, and make us yearn for a place where innocence is universal and where the meanness, the betrayals, and the cruelties of this world are unknown.”
